Experience the Hudson Valley at Our Bed and Breakfast in Hyde Park

We welcome you to the heart of the Hudson River Valley. Hyde Park is the gateway to the region's Great Estates, from Kykuit (The Rockefeller Estate) in Sleepy Hollow, south of Hyde Park to Olana (the Hudson River artist Fredrick Church’s home) just south of Hudson and The Rip Van Winkle Bridge.

Explore the Past

For history buffs, Hyde Park has Colonial cottages. Tour William Stoutenburgh House, one of Hyde Park's founding family’s homesteads. You’ll be in awe of Gilded Age manors such as, The Staatsburgh State Historic Site, home of Ruth and Ogden Mills. Their sweeping rolling knoll is a backdrop to the Hudson River. The Vanderbilt Estate and their formal gardens across from Journey Inn Bed & Breakfast gives new meaning to a “country place” and the view of the Hudson River is one of the most magnificent and most photographed in the Hudson Valley. President Franklin Delano Roosevelt’s home is located in Hyde Park, along with his Presidential Library. Top Cottage, FDR’s retreat home, is a find, and Eleanor Roosevelt’s home Valkill should never be missed.

Be Inspired

Visitors to The Culinary Institute of America (CIA) will savor local restaurants and cafes as well. Sign-up for a CIA boot camp class for the week, or if time is limited, the CIA offers a weekend class. Nature lovers can trek our miles of trails, crisscrossed by ancient stone walls, or simply stroll along the majestic Hudson River and our fabulous gardens. The pastoral beauty here has inspired painters, poets, and even politicians. Let it inspire you to return!

Friendships
Tuesday, May 21, 2013

I am a very lucky person. I have great friends. My friends from college (Connie, Maria, Marj, Steph, Julie) find time to see each other as often as we can. With careers, kids, and life's other challenges - we still find time to get away and see each other. It is one of the best gifts I give myself. .. .. read more..
