The Inn

The best location in the Hudson Valley

The Journey Inn and Hyde Park offer the best location for your Hudson Valley vacation. Located directly across the street from the Vanderbilt Estate, you are just a quick walk away from the most amazing view of the Hudson River and a great Victorian park. Just down the road is FDR's home, library and Museum, Eleanor's Val-Kill, and Franklin's Top Cottage. And less than 4 miles is the Culinary Institute of America. The Hyde Park Trail starts across the street and you can walk from our Inn to FDR's home, to Val-Kill, and up to Top Cottage.

Less than 10 minutes south in the town of Poughkeepsie are several amazing sites including the Walkway across the Hudson, Vassar and Marist Colleges, and Locust Grove, home of Samuel Morse.

Less than 10 minute north is the village of Staatsburgh, home of the Mills/Livingston Mansion and gardens and the Mills Norrie State Park. All with those views of the mighty Hudson River.

Less than 15 minutes up the road to the north is the quaint, artsy town of Rhinebeck. Visit the Wilderstein manion, shop or eat in the adorable town. Visit the Dutchess County Fairgrounds, or the Aerodrome for an old fashioned air show.

The rest of the Hudson Valley experience is all within one hour of the Inn. Just a half hour to 45 minutes away is the village of Beacon, the town of Millbrook, the village of Cold Spring, the town of Red Hook. All offering amazing shopping and dining - plus wineries, mansions and gardens, and always those views of the Hudson or the Catskills in the distance.

And within an hour, you can experience the "other side" of the Hudson from Woodstock, to Saugerties, to New Paltz, Kingston, West Point, and all the other sites on the more rural side of the Hudson.

Remember, we are the best location in the Hudson Valley - no matter what you want to do.

About Us

Hi, we are Valerie Valente and Eric Miller, owners of the Journey Inn Bed & Breakfast. After a lifetime in Brooklyn Heights, NY, we so enjoyed our own excursions to the beautiful Hudson Valley, we decided to make it our home – and to share with others our love for this wonderful part of the world. We are fortunate to also have Val’s parents, Victor and Victoria here to help us show you a warm and welcoming stay in our beloved Inn. We can’t wait to meet you.
